Sistem liga bola sepak Jepun adalah diorganisasikan dalam satu bentuk piramid sama seperti sistem liga bola sepak di dunia.

Dua peringkat teratas bagi sistem liga bola sepak Jepun dioperasi oleh J. League, yang terdiri daripada J. League Divisyen 1 (J1) dan J. League Divisyen 2. Semua kelab di J. League adalah profesional.
