Toki Pona merupakan satu bahasa buatan yang mula diterbit pada pertengahan tahun2001. Bahasa ini direkacipta oleh seorang penterjemah Kanada[1] dan ahli bahasa Sonja Elen Kisa dari Toronto. [2][3]

Sistem tulisan[sunting | sunting sumber]

Kisa menggunakan abjad Rumi secara rasmi,[4] dengan nilai-nilai huruf-huruf ini mewakili dalam IPA: p, t, k, s, m, n, l, j, w, a, e, i, o, dan u. (Iaitu, j berbunyi seperti y dalam Bahasa Melayu, dan vokal seperti Bahasa Sepanyol.)

Huruf besar hanyalah untuk kata nama khas dan bukan untuk perkataan pertama bagi setiap ayat. [5]

Tulisan lain juga dicadangkan bagi Toki Pona: Hangul Korea, Tengwar, logogram daripada Unicode abugida asal.

Sonja Elen Kisa herself has published proverbs, some poetry, and a basic phrase book in Toki Pona.[4] A few other Toki Ponans have created their own websites with texts, comics, translated video games, and even a couple of songs.[6][7][8]

Komuniti[sunting | sunting sumber]

Sonja Elen Kisa has said that at least three speak Toki Pona fluently[1] and estimates that a few hundred have a basic knowledge of the language. Traffic on the Toki Pona mailing list and other online communities suggests that dozens of people are proficient in reading and writing.
