Babylonia semasa pemerintahan Hammurabi, 1792 - 1750 SM

Babylonia adalah sebuah peradababan kuno yang terletak di kawasan tengah-selatan Mesopotamia. Ibu negara bagi tamadun, Babylon, yang bermaksud Pintu kepada tuhan-tuhan. Kawasan Mesopotamia termasuk Sumer, Akkad, dan Assyria. Kawasan ini sangat penting kerana menjadi salah satu daripada tempat terawal di mana manusia hidup bersama-sama dalam satu peradababan. Penduduk di Babylonia, atau orang Babylon, memiliki satu bahasa penulisan yang mana digunakan oleh mereka bagi mempelajari perkara-perkara berkaitan dunia di sekeliling mereka. Mereka sebenarnya merupakan orang pertama yang menulis dari kiri ke kanan, dan banyak membuat banyak dokumen-dokumen bertulis.
