Pendidikan muzik ialah satu bidang amalan di mana para pendidik dilatih untuk kerjaya sebagai guru muzik rendah atau menengah, pengarah ensembel konservatori sekolah atau muzik. Pendidikan muzik juga merupakan bidang penyelidikan di mana para sarjana melakukan penyelidikan asal tentang cara pengajaran dan pembelajaran muzik. Sarjana pendidikan muzik menerbitkan penemuan mereka dalam jurnal semakan ulasan sejawat, dan mengajar pelajar pendidikan sarjana muda dan siswazah di pendidikan universiti atau sekolah muzik, yang sedang berlatih untuk menjadi guru muzik.
