maris stella means " the Star of the Sea " in Latin, which is used to indicate St. Maria. There is also "Ave, Maris Stella" in the Gregorian Hymns, which sings and praises St. Maria as the Star of the Sea. And /the Star of the Sea/ is namely another name of Venus (planet) or Ishtar in the Ancient Mediterranean World.
