Sean Michael Carroll (/ˈkærəl/; lahir 5 Oktober 1966) ialah seorang pakar kosmologi dan profesor fizik yang mengkhususkan diri dalam tenaga gelap dan kerelatifan am. Beliau merupakan seorang profesor penyelidikan di Jabatan Fizik di Institut Teknologi California.[1] Beoiau merupakan seorang penyumbang] blog fizik Cosmic Variance, dan telah menerbitkan jurnal-jurnal dan majalah-majalah saintifik seperti Nature, The New York Times, Sky & Telescope, dan New Scientist.

Beliau muncul dalam The Universe di The History Channel, Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman di Science Channel, Closer to Truth (disiarkan di PBS),[2] dan The Colbert Report di Comedy Central. Carroll ialah pengarang Spacetime And Geometry, sebuah buku pelajaran tahap kelulusan tentang kerelatifan am, dan juga merakamkan ceramah-ceramah untuk The Great Courses tentang kosmologi dan fizik waktu.[3] Beliau juga mengarang tiga buku:From Eternity to Here, The Particle at the End of the Universe, dan The Big Picture: On the Origins of Life, Meaning, and the Universe Itself.
