A bit about me[edit]

My book, Wikipedia: The Missing Manual, was published by O'Reilly Media (Pogue Press) on January 25, 2008. It was the first book about how to edit Wikipedia; the second, How Wikipedia Works, was published in September 2008. More information about the book can be found at my website, or to be more accurate, at archive.org's copy of my website (long story), here.

As of January 2009, the book is also on Wikipedia, as a set of "Help:" pages that can be edited. And those help pages, as a set, are available as a book, in a number of formats, most of them free.

Within Wikipedia, my primary accomplishment has been the creation of the Editor's index to Wikipedia.

Since August 2012, I have lived in Sonoma County, California. My LibraryThing page is here. And I'm not the Australian astronomer about whom Wikipedia has an article: John Broughton.
