Sinking Ships dulu ialah kugiran hardcore punk Amerika dari Seattle, Washington, dibentukkan pada 2004. Pada tahun 2005, kumpulan itu mengeluarkan EP sulung mereka, Meridian, pada Run for Cover Records dan kemudiannya dikeluarkan semula pada 6131 Records dan menyumbangkan lagu "Turn My Headphones Up" kepada kompilasi Generasi yang dikeluarkan pada Revelation Records.

Kemudian pada tahun itu, Sinking Ships menandatangani Revelation Records dan mengeluarkan album mereka, Disconnecting, pada Julai 2006. Semasa kewujudan mereka, Sinking Ships mengadakan jelajah dengan kumpulan-kumpulan seperti Comeback Kid, Down To Nothing, Shook Ones, Blacklisted dan Shipwreck. Mereka juga mengeluarkan EP mengenai Revelation bertajuk Sepuluh, serta single jelajah sahaja "Safe". Sinking Ships juga mengeluarkan album pecahan yang dikeluarkan di Jepun pada label Alliance Trax dengan kumpulan Jepun As We Let Go dan My Love.

Pada musim bunga dan musim panas 2008, Sinking Ships memainkan festival Rainfest.

Ahli telah bermain dalam Wait In Vain, Self Defense Family, Gone But Not Forgotten, Meltdown dan A Storm of Light.

Pada tahun 2013, mereka bersatu semula untuk pra-pertunjukan Rainfest.
