HIV (bahasa Inggeris: human immunodeficiency virus) ialah virus yang menyebabkan AIDS. Sebelum dikenali dunia sebagai HIV, nama lain virus ini termasuk HTLV-III (human T-lymphotropic virus-III), LAV (lymphadenopathy-associated virus), dan ARV (AIDS-associated retrovirus).
