William "Bill" Paxton (17 Mei 1955 – 25 Februari 2017) merupakan pelakon dan pengarah filem Amerika Syarikat.[1]

Beliau pernah muncul dalam beberapa buah filem termasuklah The Terminator (1984), Weird Science (1985), Aliens (1986), Predator 2 (1990), Tombstone (1993), True Lies (1994), Apollo 13 (1995), Twister (1996), Titanic (1997), U-571 (2000), Vertical Limit (2000), Edge of Tomorrow (2014), dan Nightcrawler (2014). Paxton turut pernah membintangi siri drama HBO Big Love (2006–11), yang melayakkan beliau menerima tiga kali pencalonan dalam Anugerah Golden Globe sepanjang siri ini ditayangkan.[2] Beliau turut dicalonkan dalam Anugerah Primetime Emmy dan Screen Actors Guild Award untuk watak sebagai Randolph "Randall" McCoy dalam siri mini Hatfields & McCoys (2012).[3][4] Penampilan terakhir Paxton adalah menerusi filem The Circle (2017), yang dikeluarkan dua bulan selepas kematiannya.[5]

Kehidupan peribadi dan kematian[sunting | sunting sumber]

Paxton mengahwini Kelly Rowan dari tahun 1979 sehingga 1980. Pada tahun 1987, beliau mengahwini Louise Newbury; dan mereka dikurniakan dua orang anak, James dan Lydia.[6]

Pada Februari 2017, beberapa minggu sebelum menjalani pembedahan jantung yang akhirnya menyebabkan kematiannya, Paxton menyatakan dalam temu bual dengan Marc Maron bahawa beliau mempunyai injap jantung yang rosak, akibat daripada demam reumatik semasa muda.[7]

Pada 25 Februari 2017, Paxton meninggal dunia di usia 61 tahun akibat komplikasi dari pembedahan jantung.[8][9] Penyebab kematian Paxton adalah strok akibat daripada komplikasi dari jantung dan pembedahan aorta yang dijalaninya pada 14 Februari 2017.[10]
