Emydura victoriae (Gray, 1842), juga dikenali sebagai Kura-kura Muka Merah ialah spesies kura-kura bersaiz sederhana dari keluarga Chelidae. Spesies ini mendiami sungai, tasik sepanjang utara Australia.

Etimologi[sunting | sunting sumber]

Nama spesies, victoriae, merujuk kepada Sungai Victoria (Wilayah Utara) di Australia.[5]

Spesies ini mempunyai sejarah tatanama yang rumit. Selama bertahun-tahun ia dikenali sebagai Emydura australis (Gray 1841: 445)[6], bagaimanapun pada tahun 1983 namanya telah disinonimkan dengan Emydura macquarii, menurut Iverson et al. 2001.[7] Kini, spesies ini dikenali sebagai Emydura victoriae walaupun terdapat isu tatanama[7] dan kemungkinan wujud semakan semula.
