John Woo SBS (Cina tradisional: 吳宇森; lahir 1 Mei 1946)[1] ialah seorang pembikin filem, pengarah dan pelakon Hong Kong kelahiran China.[2] Beliau dianggap sebagai pengaruh utama kepada genre aksi, dikenali kerana urutan aksinya yang sangat kacau, imej yang digambarkan, kebencian Mexico, kegunaan kekerapan gerak perlahan kepada neo-noir, wuxia dan pawagam Barat.[3]

Dianggap sebagai salah seorang tokoh utama pawagam Hong Kong, Woo telah mengarahkan beberapa filem-filem aksi terkenal di negara kelahirannya, antaranya ialah, A Better Tomorrow (1986), The Killer (1989), Hard Boiled (1992), dan Red Cliff (2008/2009).[3] [4] Beliau ialah pemenang Anugerah Filem Hong Kong untuk Penyuntingan Terbaik dan Filem Terbaik, serta Anugerah Kuda Emas, Anugerah Skrin Asia Pasifik, dan Anugerah Saturn.

Filem Hollywood Woo termasuk filem aksi Hard Target (1993) dan Broken Arrow (1996), aksi thriler cereka sains Face/Off (1997) dan filem aksi pengintipan Mission: Impossible 2 (2000).[3] Beliau juga mencipta siri komik Seven Brothers, dierbitkan oleu Virgin Comics. Beliau memetik tiga filem kegemarannya seperti filem Lawrence of Arabia arahan David Lean, Seven Samurai arahan Akira Kurosawa dan Le Samouraï arahan Jean-Pierre Melville.[3] Beliau ialah pengasas dan pengerusi syarikat penerbitan Lion Rock Productions.[5]
