Biografi

Kehidupan awal

Moore yang dilahirkan Julie Anne Smith di Fort Bragg, dekat Fayetteville, North Carolina, anak perempuan Anne, seorang pekerja yang datang dari Dunoon, Scotland, dan Peter Moore Smith. Beliau mempunyai seorang adik, Valerie, dan abang Peter Moore Smith III. Beliau tinggal di banyak tempat di sekitar Amerika Syarikat dan Jerman. Moore menghadiri Frankfurt American High School di Frankfurt, Jerman.

Kerjaya

Moore berpindah ke New York City pada 1983, untuk bekerja sebelum dipilih dalam lakonan sebagai Frannie dan Sabrina Hughes di lipur lara As the World Turns, untuk mana dia memenangi Anugerah Daytime Emmy; beliau memainkan peranan-peranan dari 1985 hingga 1988. Kerana peraturan-peraturan Persatuan Pelakon Skrin, beliau terpaksa menukarkan nama, sejak terdapat pelakon-pelakon yang sudah dinamakan "Julie Smith" dan "Julianne Smith". Beliau memilihkan nama tengah ayah beliau, "Moore", tetapi kerana terdapat satu lagi pelakon bernama "Julie Moore", beliau akhirnya menukarkan nama kepada "Julianne Moore."

Moore membuat kemunculan pertama di filem-filem pada 1990-an, sebanyaknya dalam lakonan pembantu dalam filem-filem seperti The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Benny and Joon, dan The Fugitive.

Kehidupan peribadi

Moore telah berkahwin tiga kali, sekarangnya dengan pengarah Bart Freundlich yang dikahwininya pada 23 Ogos 2003.
