Liew Seng Tat (lahir 30 September 1979) merupakan seorang pembikin filem Malaysia, berasal dari Kuala Lumpur.

Kehidupan awal[sunting | sunting sumber]

Liew Seng Tat dilahirkan di kawasan Kuala Lumpur yang dipanggil Jinjang. Beliau lulus dari Universiti Multimedia di Cyberjaya, dalam bidang animasi 3D.

Kerjaya filem[sunting | sunting sumber]

Seng Tat telah terlibat secara aktif dalam pembikinan filem bebas Malaysia sejak 2003. Filem pendek langsung beliau "Bread skin with Strawberry Jam" pertama kali mendapat perhatian dan memenangi Anugerah Video Malaysia ke-8. Pada tahun 2004, beliau menubuhkan Da Huang Pictures bersama Amir Muhammad, James Lee, dan Tan Chui Mui.

Pada 2007, filem pertamanya, Flower In The Pocket, membuat tayangan perdana dunia di Festival Filem Antarabangsa Pusan ke-12 dan memenangi New Currents dan Anugerah KNN Audience.[1] Filem ini juga memenangi Anugerah Tiger VPRO di Festival Filem Antarabangsa Rotterdam ke-37, Anugerah "Le Regard d'Or" (Golden Gaze) di Festival Filem Antarabangsa Friborg ke-22 2008 dan hadiah juri (Lotus du Jury) di Festival Filem Asia Deauville Ke-10 2008.
