Scomber ialah genus ikan dalam keluarga Scombridae yang hidup di laut lepas, dijumpai di Lautan Atlantik, Hindi dan Pasifik.[2]

Terdapat 5 spesies diakui dalam genus ini kini:
- Scomber australasicus G. Cuvier, 1832 (tenggiri biru)
- Scomber colias J. F. Gmelin, 1789
- Scomber indicus E. M. Abdussamad, Sukumaran & Ratheesh, 2016
- Scomber japonicus Houttuyn, 1782 (tenggiri jepun)
- Scomber scombrus Linnaeus, 1758
Rekod fosil[sunting | sunting sumber]
Fosil genus ini dijumpai dari usia Oligosen hingga Pleistosen (33.9 hingga 1.806 juta tahun lalu). Ia diketahui dari aneka penempatan di Jerman, Itali, Romania, Jepun dan Mexico.[3] Spesies fosilnya termasuk:
- S. collettei (Bannikov and Erebakan, 2022) dari Miosen Tengah paling bawah dari Rantau Krasnodar.[4]
- S. cubanicus (Danil'chenko 1960) dari Oligosen Atas dari Wilayah Krasnodar.[5]
- S. voitestii (Pauca 1929) dari Oligosen Tengah dari slat menilit Karpatos.[6]
- S. sp. dari Miosen Atas-Tengah dari Bentukan Kurasi di Sakhalin.[7]
