Mark Felton (lahir 1974) ialah pengarang dan sejarawan British untuk Perang Dunia Kedua.

Kehidupan awal dan pendidikan[sunting | sunting sumber]

Felton dilahirkan di Colchester, Essex dan mendapat pendidikan di Philip Morant School.[1] Setelah menamatkan ijazah sarjana muda dan MA, Felton memperoleh PhD dalam sejarah dari Universiti Essex pada 2005.[2]

Kerjaya[sunting | sunting sumber]

Felton memberi kuliah di Shanghai, China antara tahun 2005 dan 2014, terakhir di Universiti Fudan. Beliau juga bekerja sebagai sukarelawan untuk Royal British Legion, menganjurkan Poppy Appeal (Rayuan Poppy) tahunan di China Timur dari tahun 2010 hingga 2014.[3] Berikutan permintaan Perdana Menteri David Cameron, beliau membantu Konsulat Britain Shanghai dalam menemui semula kubur empat askar Britain yang dibunuh oleh Jepun pada tahun 1937,[4][5][6] dan dianugerahkan Sijil Penghargaan Royal British Legion.[7][8]

Felton telah muncul di televisyen sebagai pakar sejarah ketenteraan, termasuk dalam siri Combat Trains (The History Channel),[9] Top Tens of Warfare (Quest TV),[10] dan Evolution of Evil (American Heroes Channel).[11] Bukunya Zero Night, tentang kisah melarikan diri dari kem penjara Jerman, mendapat banyak perhatian para pengkritik,,[12][13][14] dan menjadi subjek dokumentari BBC Radio Three Minutes of Mayhem.[15] Zero Night telah diserlahkan kepada Essential Media untuk pengembangan filem ciri.[16][17]
