Nefrologi (dari bahasa Yunani nephros "buah pinggang", digabungkan dengan akhiran -logy, "kajian") ialah khusus perubatan dan pediatrik yang membimbangkan diri dengan buah pinggang: kajian fungsi buah pinggang dan penyakit buah pinggang yang normal, pemeliharaan buah pinggang kesihatan, dan rawatan penyakit buah pinggang, dari diet dan ubat untuk terapi penggantian buah pinggang (dialisis dan pemindahan buah pinggang).

Nefrologi juga mengkaji keadaan sistemik yang mempengaruhi buah pinggang, seperti kencing manis dan penyakit autoimun; dan penyakit sistemik yang berlaku akibat penyakit buah pinggang, seperti osteodistrofi buah pinggang dan hipertensi. Seorang doktor yang telah menjalani latihan tambahan dan menjadi disahkan dalam nefrologi dipanggil ahli nefrologi.

Istilah "nefrologi" mula-mula digunakan pada sekitar tahun 1960. Sebelum itu, keistimewaan itu biasanya dirujuk sebagai "ubat ginjal."
