Matlamat:-

  1. Menyumbang ensiklopedia bebas bahasa Melayu yang berkualiti tinggi dan seberapa tepat yang mungkin dengan menyemak dari pelbagai sumber apabila mungkin.
  2. Menterjemah ensiklopedia Wikipedia bahasa Inggeris ke dalam bahasa Melayu, seberapa lengkap yang mungkin, agar bahasa Melayu tidak dianggap mempunyai maklumat kelas kedua.
  3. Menggalakkan penutur berbahasa Melayu lain untuk turut sama menyumbang maklumat yang lengkap dan tepat.
  4. Teruskan menyumbang tanpa bergantung kepada orang lain dan tanpa banyak membuat komen. Komen hanya mengurangkan sumber yang diperlukan dalam usaha membina ensiklopedia bahasa Melayu yang berkualiti tinggi. Distraction.

Many studies have shown children do better if they get a basic education in their own language. This is important because about 476 million of the world’s illiterate people speak minority languages and live in countries where children are mostly not taught in their mother tongue.

It is not surprising that pupils who do not have a good enough command of the appropriate Scandinavian language to benefit by specific subject teaching, do learn more facts when these are presented in their mother tongue. Available research on this subject confirms these conclusions.

Hello!

I will write this in English for those who does not understand Malay. Understand that I usually avoid writing in English in Web.

I first got interested in the Web after reading about Gutenberg project. Wow! I said to myself. One trillion English Ebooks? 150 Ebooks a month? What about Bahasa Malaysia? Even the government is promoting English in the Mathematics and Sciences. Is bahasa Malaysia is going to follow Jawi, arabic script for writing bahasa Melayu, into oblivion?

There is a shortage of Malay material in the web even though it is the 4th widely-spoken language in the world. Hence, my quest to increase its usage in the net has translated into the birth of my very own webpage.

Creating web site is tedious and require careful planning, especially if you are running on free server. Size limitation and bandwidth, not to mention sudden death of free server translates into hard work to rewired the whole web, especially mine which was tightly integrated.

Wikipedia is just what I need, though this means letting go of the tight control that I have before. It allows me to edit information that are partially completed or never have time to investigate for others to take up.

I still have some reservations about releasing my materials to the internet, but for better or for worst, long live Bahasa Malaysia.
